Meltham is also a place that sets great store by its education. Three primary schools serve the town – all rated Good or Outstanding by Ofsted – whilst high school students take a bus ride to highly acclaimed senior schools in Holmfirth and Honley.

Jonathan personally visited a small family quarry in Punjab’s Ludhiana district to select his distinctive deep blue stone pavers.

Then there’s the interior decor, as Sales & Marketing Director Cathrine Dickinson points out: “Other builders opt for stark white paint or magnolia. We were looking for something warmer and more distinctive. So we chose Farrow & Ball Cornforth White in our kitchens. More expensive of course, but we think it’s worth it.”

Contemporary elegance
Each home boasts a light, airy feel and effortlessly stylish décor. Details such as high ceilings, half tiling in the bathrooms, stainless steel switches throughout and bathroom/kitchen spotlighting abound. And with high quality kitchens with integrated appliances across the range – and granite worktops standard for the larger properties – a Heywood Home is packed with contemporary design cues.

Robert Davis, Construction Director, was eager to emphasize the benefits of this type of build: “Timber frame houses are incredibly warm. Yes, they cost us more to build than breezeblock, but they’re environmentally friendly and thermally ultra-efficient. So with low heating costs, you can keep your household bills down for the long term.”

Truly personal service
Robert clearly also takes customer service personally. “As a small, dedicated builder every customer gets to know the directors of the company. Because you deal directly with us, there’s no waiting for decisions on any requests you may have. That makes for a truly personal service and an enjoyable buying experience.”

The service extends to a personal introduction to the property for every new homeowner, where the customer is taken through every aspect of their new place from how to operate the boiler to how to work the oven.
