Magnificent Meltham
Meltham is a wonderful village with a vibrant community with an abundance of amenities and lots to fill your leisure time with. So its no wonder why we’ve decided to stay in Meltham for our next development.
Here are some of the reasons we love Meltham!
Beautifully positioned in the Holme Valley on the edge of the Peak District, you have lots of options to spend your leisure time exploring the great outdoors!
Meltham has some wonderful walks, from a 4mile meander around the village to the 14mile Meltham Way. The local group Meltham – Walkers are Welcome aim to promote walking in and around Meltham and often meet for group walks. Definitely check out their Facebook page for information on local walks and their next group walks.
If you prefer more of a gentle meander our new Woodland Walk site boasts great access to Meltham Greenway and is just a stones throw from the picturesque waterfall Folly Dolly Falls. It really is a hidden gem.
No excuses not to get out and enjoy the fresh Yorkshire air!
#2: Yummy places to eat, drink and be merry
Meltham has some great choices if you’re heading out to eat! If you’re looking for a traditional Sunday lunch a local favourite, based on its outstanding tripadvisor reviews, is Quirky Corner. They offer fine dining experience and also have Tapas on the menu. You’ll get some history thrown in too as the home of Quirky was Britain’s very first state school!
Or if you want to venture further afield, Meltham is in a great spot to jump in a taxi and head to neighbouring towns of Honley and Holmfirth where you’ll find cocktail bars and eateries such as Punch Bar and Tapas and Oscars Coffee and Wine Bar. A great night is never far away.
#3: Picturesque Postcard Scenery
With stunning views of the Peak District National Park and the Yorkshire Countryside you don’t need to look very far to find the perfect picture. We’re even lucky enough to have an unobstructed view of Castle Hill from our Woodland Walk development!
It’s not only the distant views that provide beautiful surroundings. Meltham Pleasure Grounds are a scenic wooded park over 150 years old. All this on your doorstep makes Meltham a beautiful place to live.
#4: Community spirit and events!
For a small Yorkshire town Meltham certainly has a lot going on with events taking place throughout the year.
Meltham Beer Festival is an enjoyable 3 day event in spring, with gin bar, street food, music and traditional pub games, raising funds for Meltham Memories and the local community.
The Meltham Scarecrow Festival is a great event for all the family with a scarecrow competition and trail to follow.
And finally, for the last 10 years Meltham Memories have held a 1940 and 50’s themed weekend with a parade, stalls, food and dancing! The next one is 3rd-5th July 2020 – we’re looking forward to it!
So, there you have it, there’s lots going on in this vibrant Yorkshire town! Its no wonder we’re sticking around a little longer. Woodland Walk is now available to reserve off-plan. Visit us at our Meltham View showhome (HD9 5LW) to learn more about Phase 1 and the tranquil setting of our new homes.
